Faith Formation at St. Augustine’s Church

Overview of Program
Jesus’ command to His apostles in Mt 28:19 to “Go…and make disciples of all nations…” sets the course for the Faith Formation program at St. Augustine. In fulfilling this apostolic mission, we transmit the teachings of Jesus and the Truth which He embodies. Our catechesis is a faithful adherence to the Catechism’s injunction to be “an education in the faith of children, young people and adults which includes…the teaching of Christian doctrine…with a view to initiating the hearer into the fulness of Christian life.” Accordingly, the following programs are made available to our parishioners: An eleven-year Kindergarten through grade 10 Faith Formation program for public school children; Formation and educational training for all catechists and teachers of the Faith; Online faith formation courses for all adults interested in understanding their faith; the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults for those seeking to enter fully into the Catholic Church; the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children for those age 7 and older who have yet to receive the sacraments of initiation.
